I have stayed at Country Cousins many times and have always regretted it when I had to leave! It is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been, with lots to keep on busy (or nothing to do at all, whichever you prefer).
I have stayed at "Dad's Place" and the guest house and found them both very comfortable. They both have private baths and are as private as you want them to be. They are light, airy and have wonderful views from the windows. Dad's Place also has a full kitchen, so one can make meals or have snacks available if desired.
I travel with two standard poodles and they also love going to Country Cousins. Calvin enjoys following the paddle board and fetching in the ponds. Trudy amuses herself chasing the Guinea hens and other small wild life, and they both enjoy racing through the fields and down the trails. They can bark and run to their heart's content, something they can't do in the city we live in. They also enjoy visiting with the other dogs that are always around. It's the most dog friendly place you can imagine!
Speaking of friendly, the people are also gracious as can be. Arlene is very accommodating and responsive to any needs you may have. Just ask and I'm sure she can advise or help.
The summers are my favorite - warm days, cool evenings, bon fires and s'mores. Fall has crisp days and evenings by a warm wood stove and gorgeous, colorful vistas. The mountains could not be more beautiful! Winter always has plenty of snow for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and (the newest fun activity) skijoring or dog sledding! Spring is loaded with lupine and gentle breezes - and don't forget YARD SALES (for the bargain shopper in you). No matter when you want your "get away" - Country Cousins will meet your needs.

Hi! Zanzibar and Maggie May here. Country Cousins is our favorite place to stay when we are in Colebrook! It is comfortable, clean and friendly! We were photographed in the Guesthouse blue bedroom. We had our own bathroom and even a dog bed, although we're not sure who that was for. It is so quiet and relaxing and way better than any of the other places near by! Plus there are poodles. We can't think of anything else one could possibly need! As you can tell, we felt right at home.

This past autumn, a friend of mine and two standard poodles spent a week at Dad's Place. It was wonderful!  Futons could easily adjust to sleep more than two. Everything was provided except groceries and personal items, and was so relaxing and laid back, we didn't want to leave - even the dogs were kicked back and acted like they didn't want to get back in the car for more adventures, it was just fine at Country Cousins thank you! Bonnie and I enjoyed feeding the fish in the evening as well as all the birds, and taking the dogs to the paddock which had agility equipment for us to try-out or practice with.
All in all, it was a wonderful retreat for all of us. We look forward to a return visit.

What a lovely surprise Country Cousins is. The warm hospitality, tranquil atmosphere, & stunning views can't be beat. Being able to have our 2 dogs with us at "Dad's Place" made a memorable weekend even better. We'll be back. Perhaps we'll trade skijoring in the winter for swimming in the ponds in the summer.

This is a wonderful place to stay with your dog(s). The views are amazing and you can let your dogs run around on trails and fields and swim in the pond in the summertime. If you need to pen the dogs to run errands or make day-trips, there are ample kennels and runs available. The accommodations are clean and cozy, and you will feel instantly comfortable. Whether you want to go off and be by yourself or chat up the owner, Crabapple Country Cousins is for you!

Always anxious to travel with my dog, I was thrilled to find Crabapple Country Cousins. Our stays have always been delightful and relaxing. We've stayed in the yellow room, which has an absolutely beautiful view toward the mountains. During one of our visits, the lupines were in full bloom and were gorgeous. We look forward to returning for another visit soon!
