 We are a quiet, private, secluded get-a-way and vacation spot,
ideal for the single traveler or couple seeking a safe and
secure rural country "home away from home" to unwind, heal, and
regroup from the hectic pace of everyday life. Country Cousins,
at Crabapple Downs is also perfect for
that fun vacation you wanted to take with your dog! We offer
comfortable, clean, simple, rustic accommodations in the
highlands above the White Mountains where Vermont, New
Hampshire, and Quebec all come together. Our area has recently
been designated as the Great North Woods, but we like to think of it as
"The Highlands!"
We are blessed with the most beautiful 80-acre, secluded hill farm,
located well off the beaten path. Originally settled in the
early 1800's, it was the hardy Yankee pioneers who first sought to
make this piece of rocky New England soil their home and
it's easy to see why they were so enamored with the area: There are walking trails, three ponds,
fields and woods to explore and lots of flora and fauna to study.
We also have a reference library, full of field guides, which
will help you
identify all your discoveries. It is a birders' paradise with a
variety of covers and the botany of the land is incredible!

photographers, and those just seeking creative and spiritual
renewal all find Country Cousins and Crabapple Downs a
refreshing and relaxing escape.

Our ponds bring much enjoyment and tend to be the focal
point of our outdoor lives. The lupines are gorgeous in the
spring, followed by a huge array of wildflowers on the banks
in summer and fall. Our paddleboat allows us to turtle
watch, feed the fish, or just drift lazily around. Can you
imagine a more perfect afternoon?
We offer all the comforts of home: four season living with
our "Guest House" and "Dad's Place."
We also have three rustic camping cabins and several select
camp sites set up
for you to pitch your tent, available only in the warmer months.
Adining hall (once a barn) and
summer kitchen are also available for
small group get-togethers. Crabapple Country Cousins will always
be small, private, quiet, peaceful and low-key. There are never noisy
crowds - silence and solitude are always available in abundance.
